Adobe Creative Cloud
This is my editing choice. Yes both Avid and Final Cut are used in the industry tons. For me and my budget I get 30+ products for a monthly fee and Premiere Pro works seamlessly with the other Adobe products.

Budgeting/Scheduling
Kind of the standard. The only one I have used although I hear good things about Gorilla ware.
Jungle Software
The pre-production AD one stop shop [Bundles available]
File Maker Pro
Another unknown oft used industry tool. Tons of varied options, and products.
Sketch Up Pro
3-D modeling, creating a digital map if your building sets, or 3D story boarding for FX, many uses.
